What Men Want From Women

Thursday, August 30th, 2007

By Bob Grant Actually, its pretty simple. Deep inside the heart of every man is a secret wish to be trusted. How many times have men said to their wives, If you would just trust me. Many men wonder why it seems so difficult for their wives to do something so seemingly simple. The answer stems from the physiological differences between the sexes. It begins at birth when little boys are given a distinct physical advantage over little girls by having higher levels of testosterone. With testosterone comes the physical strength to both defend themselves from danger and/or run away from a threat. Most little girls dont have that ability. They dont have the strength to defend themselves in a physically fight when they feel threatened. If a boy trusts someone who in turn hurts them, they can always defend themselves physically (or try to). Little girls dont have that physical option of power. Since a person can only trust from a position of strength, those same little girls will grow up into women who naturally have a more difficult time trusting when they feel vulnerable. So men, when you ask the woman of your choice to simply trust you, its not that she cant, shes just more vulnerable than you. If you want her to trust you, she needs something that will help develop that trust. Perhaps even a tool or gesture that she can count on until that trust with you is established. Thankfully this tool already exist and is known every woman. What cultivates trust in a woman is a man who consistently keeps his word. Making a promise is meaningless if there is no follow through. A woman needs to SEE her man fulfill his promises because seeing is always more powerful than hearing. Allow me to illustrate. Imagine someone told you that I was the meanest person they had ever met. For months all you heard was how terrible I treated my family and friends. Then one day you met me and during the course of our meeting you begin to notice that I didnt seem to be as horrible as you were led to believe. I actually appeared to be rather pleasant. Would you change your entire opinion about me from one visit? Probably not! However, if you saw me respond consistently with kindness and humility over a period of weeks, your opinion of me would begin to change. A paradox has just been established. The kindness you have seen in me for the last few weeks does not match what you have heard about me. All the rumors of how mean I am begin to fade into darkness because of my consistent actions. Over time what you see will replace most if not all of your concerns about my character. Men, when the woman you love sees your words lining up with your actions, trust will naturally follow. When you dont keep your word it causes your wife/girlfriend to become fearful. From her perspective, she has entrusted you with her Heart and WANTS to trust you. She simply needs your help in giving you what you want. Botox Cures Depression In Patients?

Wednesday, August 29th, 2007

By Ricardo Silva Every once in a while, the medical profession comes up with something truly surprising. In this case, it is the new finding that Botox may cure depression. Botox Cures Depression in Patients? In the world of elective medical treatment, Botox has proven to be one of the more popular treatment courses. Given as an injection, this otherwise nasty stuff has proven to reduce or eliminate wrinkles in the facial area. Given the fact Botox injections are a fraction of the cost of a facelift, the procedure has met with massive popularity. Now, it may really explode on to the scene. Over the years, medical professionals have noticed that patients getting Botox injections report being happier. Perhaps due to ego, most doctors simply thought they had done a good job and the patients happiness was a psychological result of feeling better about their appearance. A recent study, however, suggests there is more to the sensation of happiness than just the perception of ones appearance. Recently, a pilot study was undertaken to analyze the relationship of Botox injections and depression. The study involved 10 patients that were diagnosed with depression. They were then given a course of Botox injections per usual custom and standards of the medical treatment. 90 percent of the patients reported that their depression lifted after the treatments, a rather stunning result. Medical professionals are drawing a number of general conclusions from the study. First, it appears facial expressions may have a direct correlation to mood. In the study, the injections were used to eliminate frown lines. Second, a discussion of the subject resulted in the surprising realization for doctors that many patients undergoing Botox injections have admitted they are doing so to feel better, not improve their appearance. So, should you rush out and get Botox injections if you are depressed? Well, such injections carry little risk, so it probably will not hurt to do so. What you must realize, however, is a study of 10 people is not of sufficient size to draw any solid conclusions. Botox injections may help depression, then again they may not. The only way to really know is to conduct a study of a much larger number of people. Could Botox be the cure to systematic depression in patients? The first impressions are good, but much more clinical analysis is needed. Ricardo de Silva is with Plastic Surgeon Practices - a directory of plastic surgeons. How To Save Money By Making Gifts This Holiday Season

Saturday, August 25th, 2007

By Kristen Ellis Well, there are some steps to giving a great gift with very little out of pocket expense. The very first step is to make a list! Sounds simple doesn’t it? For some it really is. But if you are like me, you get the “rebound” list. What’s THAT? Oh, where you start the thinking of “If I buy for this one, then I have to give this one a gift too”. If this is the case, then you MUST start early! So, you have your list- great! Here’s the hard part. What to get everyone! Through trial and error, I have found MOST people do appreciate a gift that is handmade. Now do not panic if you aren’t exactly crafty! I do not mean you must go crazy here. Just put yourself into the gift is all, while considering the recipient. I will list some ideas that are simple and won’t break the bank! Family Movie Night Basket - This one is so easy and everyone I have given it to loves it! Find a medium sized basket and fill it with these items (or similar) Family themed movie Old fashioned popcorn (bag costs under $1) Popcorn Bowl (even better-use this as your basket! Buy at a Dollar Store) Flavored Popcorn Salts Various Candy This gift is great because you have shopped for an entire family! Instead of 3, 4, or 5 individual gifts at 10.00 each, for under 20.00 you have it covered! 2. On the same thought buy a Family Game Night package An inexpensive Board Game Snacks Hot Cocoa Mugs 3. For the Ladies Spa Gift Set - include small toiletries in an exotic scent along with a bath pouf in a basket. Add a few votive candles with holder and it’ll look fantastic! Recipes in a Jar - Your favorite recipes dry ingredients layered in a large mason jar, along with a handwritten copy of instructions. Wrap it up in a cute kitchen towel for a great presentation! Gratitude Journal - For just $1 you can purchase a blank journal. Add embellishments to suit the recipient. Fill in the first page as to why you are grateful for them! A Trip Down Memory Lane - Several ways to do this: 1. Buy a photo album and create a simple scrapbook. Add extra items such as postcards, pictures, and other things you have shared with the recipient. 2. Buy a wooden frame at the craft store. Paint it and decorate it with a theme that corresponds to a picture of you with the recipient. Ex. glue shells on it for a beach photo. 3. A treasure chest! For about $5 you can purchase an unfinished wooden chest. Glue on photos and adhere them with Mod Podge. They can fill it with their favorite momentos. 4. For the Guys- Yes, guys like handmade too! Fisherman, hunter, outdoorsman? Get a small plastic tackle box at any hardware store. Fill it up with emergency staples geared towards their passion! Ideas include a flashlight, power bars, compass, disposable camera(for the one’s that get away!), and a certificate printed off the computer stating “World’s Best Fisherman, etc”. Techie? - Decorate a T-Shirt with Computer slang (This Bytes for example). Or make a Password Journal for them to keep. Just decorate a blank journal with a computer theme. Make a Mouse Pad for them. You can purchase Blank Ones and decorate them yourself! Handyman? - Again you could fill up that “Tool Chest”. Fill it with candy or even handwritten notes. Find a great picture of him “in action” and frame it in an unfinished wooden frame that you have embellished with the phrase “Tool Time” and pictures of various tools etc…. 5. The Kids (Little Ones) Create a Board game - Decorate a blank piece of cardboard after a model of “Chutes and Ladders”, “Candyland”, etc. You create the theme! Do they love Pokemon, Yugioh, Barbie? Each space can relate to their interest. You will need a large piece of cardboard, paper relating to the theme (maybe from a book, magazine, or even off the computer), game pieces (gumball machine?), and “cards”. For the cards you can use index cards. They will love it! Bubble Bath Heaven - In a basket combine bubble bath, bath crayons, and small bath toys. My son loves those Grow a Towels and the Sponge Capsules. Again go with a theme! Have fun with this one! Gift Certificate Books - Make your own coupon book. Include items such as - stay up 1/2 hour later, trip to the zoo, make cookies with mom or dad, family movie night. You name it! Cost? Nothing except the quality time you get later. 6. Tweens and Teens - Here the coupon book could work again. Trip to mall, extra 1/2 curfew for one night, lunch date with mom or dad. You get the picture. Give them a “their baby book” and include a letter with it. My mom did this and I loved it! Books related to their hobby. Make a decoration for their room. Lamps are easy ! Buy a fairly blank one and embellish the shade to match their room (Sports, Dragons, Pop culture, etc). Or a bulletin Board. Cover blank cork with fabric related to their interest. Wrap some coordinated ribbon and adhere with push pins for a French style memo-board. Click here for an idea of the finished product. Now, of course, not everyone on your list will appreciate the handmade. You know who they are! Be prepared. Shop early, check out clearance shelves, buy off season. Have a drawer set aside for gifts. That way you’ll always have some on hand. I hope some of these ideas have helped. I will be writing another guide with more ideas soon! Thank you! I am an Ebay Store Owner, car rental agent, and avid crafter. I have a very large family and have found handmade gifts to be a great money saver each year! Seroquel Side Effects | Seroquel Lawyer & Seroquel Attorney Lawsuits

Friday, August 24th, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Todd_Going] Todd Going The FDA approved the drug Seroquel in 1997 for the treatment of schizophrenia and bipolar mania. Schizophrenia is not a multiple personality disorder, as it is commonly portrayed by the media, but rather a mental disease that causes people to fail to perceive reality properly. Schizophrenia can cause hallucinations, delusions and disorganized thinking processes. Bipolar mania is a mood disorder that is characterized as having extreme emotions. Usually these extreme emotions involve hyperactivity, increased sexual desires, increased irritability and sometimes euphoria. Recently this drug has been linked to potentially fatal conditions such as diabetes and pancreatitis. If these conditions are left unchecked, they can sometimes lead to catastrophic problems such as ketoacidosis, coma and potentially death. Seroquel is also known to cause an increase in appetite which ultimately causes the patient to gain weight. Weight gain can be an early sign of diabetes, hyperglycemia or other dangerous conditions. Unfortunately, Seroquel users have found it difficult (if not impossible) to lose the weight after its been put on after using the drug. If you or a loved one has been faced with the devastating side effects of the drug Seroquel, its very important that you have someone to turn to for help. Seroquel induced diabetes or pancreatitis victims DO have legal rights. A qualified defective drug attorney can help you receive compensation for your injuries and fight for your rights. Its time drug makers like AstraZeneca are held accountable for their actions. Please contact an attorney as soon as possible. Vital Records - A Brief Overview

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007

By Leo Talbot Birth, Death and Marriage Records The foundation of genealogy or family history research is birth, death and marriage records. It is these vital records of life’s significant events that we turn to when we begin to seek out the knowledge of our ancestry. These public records and others such as the Social Security Death Index (SSDI), offer access to genealogical information that may not be available from any other source. The Social Security Death Records constitute a data base of around 65/70 million names, most of which belong to the period from 1962 to 1988. This library of archived data is being constantly added to. Using these family search tools you should be able to: Distinguish between people with the same name Identify your ancestors Establish birth, death and marriage data, such as dates and places Learn the occupation and place of residence of ancestors Prove/disprove the validity of other records Find subtle clues to assist your researchIf family history (genealogical research) is something that you are just becoming interested in, then the best place to start is with yourself. Write your own name on a piece of paper with your birth date and place, and now add what you know about your parents and grandparents, and so on, until you have exhausted your immediate knowledge. Next, if your parents are alive and you can meet with them face to face, take a piece of paper with you and have them exhaust their knowledge of names, dates and places. Repeat this with all living relatives. Write to those you cannot visit. Leo Talbot is an experienced genealogist that enjoys helping others in their search for their ancestors. Stop Overeating Now - 10 Simple Strategies

Monday, August 20th, 2007

By Sheri Zampelli Do you find yourself struggling to stay on track with your eating and weight loss goals? Give these 10 simple strategies a try: 1. Forgive Yourself Get off the I already blew it so I might as well eat everything in the kitchen mentality. Let go of judgment. Regardless of how much you ate, eating more is not the solution. Put down the food. Walk away, take a deep breath. Tell yourself, I always do the best I can. I forgive myself and let go. 2. Eat small meals every 3-5 hours Eating regularly helps prevent low blood sugar or severe drops in your energy level. It also decreases temptation to choose quick, pick me up foods and keeps your metabolism revved up. 3. Drink Something or Chew Gum First Sometimes habitual eaters mistake feelings of hunger for the need to drink something or chew something. If you take a pause to drink or chew gum, it could help save you from unnecessary eating and the resulting fat storage. 4. No More Fad Diets or Starvation! Fad diets and starvation lead to the Deprivation Response which means you want more and more of whatever if is youre not supposed to have. Take all foods out of jail and allow yourself a wide variety. This will help insure long-term, stress-free success and a healthy, active metabolism. 5. Surrender to Your Cravings from Time to Time No really, you can do it. Its not reasonable to expect yourself to NEVER eat sweets or fats. Moderation is the key to long-term success. Occasionally check in with yourself and ask, what do I REALLY want? Fully enjoy your favorites. Eat slowly, chew throughly, savor the flavor and the freedom of allowing yourself to eat a variety of foods. 6. Focus on Quality, Not Quantity Settle for nothing less than the best when possible. A high-quality, fresh, homemade meal is satisfying on more levels than a frozen meal you heat in the microwave. The increased satisfaction you experience will help curb your tendency to want more, more, more. 7. Slow Down Come Up for Air Chew slowly, put your utensil down between bites. Swallow completely before taking your next bite. Have a slow contest. . Count to 10. Read something or say the following affirmation between bites: I love to linger over every bite. I savor the flavor. 8. Dont Forget the Rest of Your Physical Needs Some of us use food as a all-in-one cure for exhaustion, sadness, anger, thirst, boredom and more. Your body needs more than food. It also needs sleep (at least 6-8 hours a day) and exercise. Dont forget to indulge your other senses besides taste such as sight, sound, smell and touch. Look at art or nature, listen to music, light a scented candle or get a massage. Your craving to eat when youre not hungry may be related to deprivation in other areas of your life. 9. Reclaim Your Me Time Is there a hobby you left in the garage? Dust off your tools and dig in the dirt. A little time alone or engaged in your favorite pastime can be so fulfilling that you actually forget about food. Its almost impossible to engage in hobbies like gardening, crocheting, graphic design, sewing or writing and eat at the same time because your hands are too busy and you wouldnt want to get dirt on your food or put your greasy fingers all over your projectwould you? 10. Stay Away From the Scale The metal monster called the scale has incited many a food frenzy. Be it the celebratory I lost weight, Im going to treat myself or the perfectionistic punishment of I didnt lose (or I gained) so whats the point? Most of us can rarely remain neutral or objective when it comes to those numbers on the scale. Take your power away from the scale. Throw it out the window or sell it at a garage sale. Its not your friend! Copyright 2005 Sheri Zampelli Sheri O. Zampelli, M.S., CCH is a clinical hypnotherapist in private practice. It’s Never Too Early to Renew Your Wedding Vows

Monday, August 20th, 2007

By Chris Simeral When you think about couples who renew their wedding vows, chances are youre not picturing anyone under the age of 50. But the truth is that its never too early to renew your vows especially if you didnt get to do exactly what you wanted the first time around. Im talking about those couples that really wanted to write their own vows, but that got talked out of doing it by family, friends (or even themselves) for a whole host of reasons that sounded good at the time. Does This Sound Like You? Rick and Holly were recently married, and as much as their day was truly memorable, there was one aspect that really bothered them — their wedding vows. Like many modern-day engaged couples, they wished to write their own vows to make their exchange of love more romantic and personal. However, they were talked out of the idea by Hollys mother and her maid of honor, Karen. Hollys mother believed that writing their own wedding vows was going against tradition, which would be frowned upon by many of the guests attending the ceremony, while Karen felt that writing personal wedding vows was tacky and likely to be longwinded. Holly carefully considered the opinion of each woman, both of whom she respected and loved very much, as they had been wonderful and exceptionally helpful during the planning of her wedding. She discussed the situation with Rick and found out that he, too, was having mixed feelings about writing their own vows. It seemed his brother Jim and sister-in law Deborah also expressed their distaste concerning the idea. With a heavy sigh, both Rick and Holly decided that it would probably be best not write their own wedding vows. They tossed away brainstorming ideas, and although neither of them would admit it to the other, they were equally feeling miserable about abandoning their original plan to create their own vows. Now, here they were, happily married, and yet feeling cheated out of the wedding they had always wanted. Why had they listened to others instead of their own hearts? Why Not Renew Your Vows on Your Honeymoon? (Yes, Your Honeymoon!) That is when Rick had a clever idea: what if they renewed their wedding vows on their honeymoon? Holly brightened at this thought, and after a moment of consideration it was settled. Both of them carefully composed personal thoughts that they wished to share with the other, and set the day when they would renew their vows. Afterwards, Rick and Holly were able to ignore the regret they once felt, as they now had new memories born from the second chance of being able to express the everlasting words of love they had always wanted to share in the presence of others. If you are one of the unfortunate victims who have listened to others and went with traditional wedding vows instead of your original plan of writing out your own, you can stop regretting and start renewing. Thats right; you can have the wedding you originally wanted by simply renewing your wedding vows. You will discover that renewing your wedding vows is not a difficult process, and could be even more romantic than the first time you were married. A renewal of vows is a beautiful decision, because it is like saying to your spouse, I love you even more than the day we were married, and if I had the choice, I would marry you all over again because I cant imagine my life without you in it. You are the only one for me, and I want the whole world to know. If this sounds like something youre interested in, try searching on the Internet for places that cater to destination weddings. After all, you want this to be a special moment just as special as the day you were originally married. And in terms of getting down to the business of actually personalizing the words youre going to say, products like The Ultimate Wedding Vow Toolkit (which I created more info at http://www.weddingvowtoolkit.com) will walk you through the process step by step. Lighting - The Power of Blue

Saturday, August 18th, 2007

By Michael Russell Light therapy is already used, successfully, to treat several disorders including SAD, migraines, headaches, skin conditions (psoriasis and eczema), muscular pain and so on. Different light colors are used to treat different types of illness. Although light therapy is usually performed in the presence of a trained physician (as different light intensities might have side effects, triggering aggressive behaviors, anxiety feelings and nervousness), there are some harmless lighting solutions that you could use to lessen fatigue and increase alertness, particularly when you have to work at night. This is where the power of blue comes into the scene. As you’ve probably noticed, blue is usually a very relaxing color and yes, it is one of the most popular of all the major colors. You’ll find it everywhere: in interior decorations, clothing, lighting. If you want to inspire dependability when you go to a job interview - let’s say applying for a position in a bank or other official business - wearing a navy blue suit will do the trick. But navy blue will not work when it comes to lighting. Obviously, lighting needs bright colors. When you use blue lighting, you’ll need something to remind you of the color of the sky. This is the color that really relaxes you. A soft blue light will determine your body to produce calming chemicals. When you increase the brightness of the blue light you’ll get another effect: alertness. Studies show that blue light exposure is a powerful countermeasure against tiredness. People who work at night experience fatigue troubles that lead to headaches and even depression because of the absence of natural light in their working environment. According to the Harvard Medical School, short wavelength blue light (460 nm) will improve alertness in people who perform jobs that need sustained attention for long periods of time: pilots, long distance drivers, surgeons and much more. Even nightclubs started using blue light more and more (replacing fluorescent purple lights that leaded to tiredness). If you plan to use blue light in your home, be warned that long-term exposure has important sight effects and could even damage the eyes. It’s never wise to stare into the light - any light. You should use controllable lighting systems that will allow you to dim the brightness of the light or increase it as needed. Remember that it is not advisable to treat yourself against migraines using blue light. You should ask a trained physician to give you details about the light intensity you should use, correct wavelength, timing, duration, etc. There’s nothing wrong to have blue light in a room every now and than, but it is wrong to over-expose yourself to it. We don’t live in a monochromatic world. Even if you are color blind, there are other parts of your body sensitive to light. Monochromatic light might lead to depression. As you know, the already famous mood light panels are color changing. If you need light therapy, you might want to consider purchasing such a panel. They are usually controllable (you are able to program your own color and light effects) and the non-controllable versions have a correct light intensity calibration. The Easiest Weight Loss Ever

Friday, August 17th, 2007

By AJ Stamp Lets talk about the easiest weight loss ever. The easiest form of weight loss would require no work, no thought, no extra effortsounds good doesnt it? Easy weight loss is possibleusing the power of your mind. You may not believe it, but your mind is a powerful tool that is responsible for your success or lack of success in life. If you believe that you’ll never be able to lose weight, then you are setting yourself up for failure. Youve no doubt heard the saying what the mind believes can be conceived. Its a true statement. If you believe that you are a thin person, then your subconscious mind will do everything in its power to make it happen. Saying positive thoughts to yourself is not enough though; you must believe it. And you must feel the emotions that go along with what you want. How would you feel if you were at your goal weight? Hold on to that feeling, and tell yourself that you are happy you are at your ideal weight. Positive affirmations work best when they are said in the present tense. So how do you make your subconscious mind work for you? Hypnosis is one option that works wonders, and positive affirmations can make a difference also. Hypnosis works by reprogramming your subconscious mind to believe you can and will meet your goals. Hypnosis can be performed by a therapist, or you can purchase hypnosis sessions on CD. Positive affirmations are statements that you make to yourself on a daily basis. Look at yourself in a mirror and say positive statements that are in the present tense, such as I’m so happy that I’m at my ideal weight. Although you may not believe yourself at first, after time it’ll become much easier. If you cant afford hypnosis sessions, and you keep forgetting to do your positive affirmations, there is a simpler solution. Download a track onto your mp3 player. Not just any track, but one that is laced with subliminal messages. Subliminal messages work in the same way that hypnosis works. These messages are heard by your subconscious mind, and the more often your mind hears them, the more your mind believes them. This is the easiest way to make your mind work for you; you don’t have to put in any effort besides for pushing the play button. Whatever your diet and exercise plan, you can achieve your goals faster with the power of your mind. When your mind is in sync with your goals, you may achieve the easiest weight loss ever.
